Program Highlight: CASA of Tulare County, 0-5 Program

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) 0-5 of Tulare County, advocate for children who are victims of abuse and neglect by training community volunteers to represent the children’s best interest and to be their voice in court.

CASA works hard and is very invested in doing what is needed for the child. It

takes a good team to put a plan into action and execute it. CASA is able to go into the resource home soon after being appointed to a case by the court, sometimes before a social worker or a nurse, which can often lead to early intervention and action.

CASA has worked very hard to be a voice and speak out for the children in foster care. Collaborative efforts and communications with various agencies such as: Child Welfare System, social workers, nurses, therapist, attorneys, judicial personnel have proven to be the most helpful in caring for the county’s foster children at the most difficult times of their young lives.
