What do you get when you mix Ice Cream and a Mermaid?

Yup, you guessed it… Mermaid Ice Cream! Today we are going to learn how to make homemade Mermaid Ice Cream.

Mermaid Ice Cream is perfect for a pool party or just for an afternoon treat. This recipe is, simple, kid-friendly and doesn’t require a lot of ingredients. It is also a great way to start introducing children to math; such as measuring, counting, etc. Aside from the learning opportunities, most important of all, is to have FUN and make MEMORIES that will last a life time!!

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Heavy cream

  • 14 oz. Sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

  • Food coloring (your favorite colors)

  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Place a glass oven dish in the freezer (make sure it’s freezer friendly).

  • In the bowl of your mixer add the heavy cream and the vanilla. Mix on high until stiff peaks form.

  • Add the sweetened condensed milk to the whipped cream fold it together.

  • Separate the ice cream mixture into four bowls. Add one color of food coloring to each bowl. Stir the food coloring until it is thoroughly mixed.

  • Get the glass dish from the freezer and add the colored ice cream mixture to dish a few scoops at a time alternating colors and layering them on top of one another.

  • When all of the ice cream mixture is in the glass dish take a spatula, and spread it through the mixture as needed.

  • Top with your favorite sprinkles.

  • Cover the glass dish with plastic wrap and freeze for approximate 6 hours.

Voilà, Mermaid Ice Cream!
