Tie-dye is so much fun for children and adults! This is a great way to spend some quality time with the whole family. You can tie-dye eggs, shirts, shoes, socks, paper towels, etc. This activity will help children with fine motor skills and will help promote hand-eye coordination in a fun and playful way.
In this activity, we will be using eggs which are simple to make (boil). I recommend using colors that are bright, but you can use the colors that you desire. Since we will be using food coloring, the eggs are safe to eat. This activity will help engage your child’s creative side, but most importantly, have FUN and make MEMORIES that will last a life time
You will need the following:
Place several hard-boiled eggs in a colander in the kitchen sink and splash them with vinegar.
Drip food coloring on the eggs.
Gently agitate the colander for a few seconds to help the color spread. Let the color set on the eggs for 30 seconds.
Repeat step 2 & 3 with up to two shades.
After the last color has set, give the eggs a light rinse with water and let them drain for a minute or two. Air dry them on paper towels.
If you plan on eating the eggs, put them in the fridge and keep them for up to a week.
