| | The Mini-Grant Program consists of a tiered process regarding the number of children in the daycare setting which will include Home-Based Childcare Providers and Center-Based Childcare Providers as structured in the following:
Category I: First 5 Tulare County anticipates to award 40 (licensed & unlicensed) Home-Based Childcare Providers in the amount of $2,500 each for a total of $100,000. Given the large number of applicants each year, those that have received a grant in the past cannot apply.
Category II: First 5 Tulare County anticipates to award 10 licensed Day Care Centers established in a commercial building in the amount of $10,000 each for a total of $100,000. Centers must provide a copy of their insurance and can apply once a year regardless of prior funding.
Note: First 5 Tulare County will only fund unlicensed and licensed childcare providers that provide care for other children besides their own.
First 5 Tulare County anticipates awarding 50 Mini-Grants from a total pool of $200,000 to purchase educational supplies, materials, and equipment through Lakeshore Learning Materials and Kids Play, Inc. First 5 Tulare County will conduct a random selection of 50 applications via a lottery drawing. First 5 Tulare County reserves the right to reject any and all applications and to waive informalities or irregularities. First 5 Tulare County WILL NOT hear appeals for the Childcare Provider Mini-Grant Program.
All childcare providers awarded a grant will be required to be available for a mid-year review and comply with the terms and conditions set forth in their contract. All grants must be completed by the end of the contract year.
Childcare providers awarded a grant will be required to provide the packing slip of items purchased, which acknowledges receipt of items ordered, to the First 5 Tulare County office within a week of delivery of their products. | |
